includes a recreation of Barnum's personal library in his former Iranistan
estate as well as other artifacts and displays related to 19th-century
life.

education through engaging exhibits. There are a variety of activities that
will keep kids engaged, such as the Sand Pendulum, Gravity Well, Tuning Fork
Table, construction zone, and water play area. At the Museum, there is also a
large relief map of the United States created by Barnum to show his circus

recent damage caused by a tornado, the Barnum Museum remains open and worth
visiting for its stunning collections. Renovations at the museum began in 2010
and an extensive restoration project is currently underway.
One of the oldest artifacts in the collection is a 2500-year-old Egyptian
mummy that was verified as authentic by Quinnipiac University personnel.
Additionally, visitors can explore a reconstructed mermaid, 1,000 square-foot
miniature circus, and many other captivating items at this fascinating museum. At
the museum, visitors are sure to love a reproduction of the Fejee Mermaid, one
of Barnum's first attractions. Children were particularly fond of this aquatic
beauty due to her ability to move and breathe underwater. The museum boasts a
number of intriguing artifacts, such as a letterpress copybook from Barnum's
time touring Europe with Tom Thumb. Additionally, there are items related to 19th-century
life in Bridgeport.
St. Margaret’s Shrine
Bridgeport, Connecticut has a long and distinguished history as an important

Pearl Harbor.
Reverend Emilio Iasiello had originally intended for his chapel on Park
Avenue to be a small memorial of their holy name but instead chose to build
something else entirely. Since then, the chapel has remained in constant use
and holds a special place in many residents' hearts--particularly those from
Italy. Jeremy Nivakoff, born and raised in Bridgeport, had two very special
Christmas presents to open: his first power tool and pair of binoculars. As a
teenager, Jeremy learned how to use these tools for creating an elaborate
presipio (nativity scene), with help from Deacon Don Foust - a fun moment for
him and his uncle.
